Disclaimer:
The illustrated disc flight line is based on the manufacturer
field testing results, during its development process. So,
to level the playing field we chose to put a different spin on
things for such visual illustrations. Sticking to the manufacturer's test results will offer you a good baseline for how that
particular disc will fly.
Product Description
The Discraft Z Line Wasp is an overstable midrange with a flat top and big bead. It's a disc that has a slightly hooked wing on the outside which makes it an excellent choice for your backhand. This disc doesn't stay in the air for long, but it's built for control for players of all skill levels. It's a popular choice for players on the pro tour as well as folks on your local course.
The Wasp has a very distinct flight path. Thrown flat it's going to lower the outside wing quickly and start to hyzer. It's an awesome approach disc that is overstable and virtually unaffected by windy days. You can rip on it with lots of speed and power and you're just going to go further without flipping it over. It fits between the Malta and Zone from Discraft very well, the Wasp has more overstable fade than the Malta and less dump than a Zone. It excels in the 75-250 foot range where you want something to get you up and down. The Wasp works well in all weather conditions and is a great woods disc.
Z Line plastic from Discraft is a premium blend. It's super durable and provides a little extra stability when compared to other plastics like ESP or Pro D plastic. It's going to last for years and give you plenty of overstable shots.
The Wasp really excels at those strategic shots when you need to hit a gap, or need something that remains stable the whole way through a flight. It's one of Discraft's best mid range discs for those shorter shots.
