Disclaimer:
The illustrated disc flight line is based on the manufacturer
field testing results, during its development process. So,
to level the playing field we chose to put a different spin on
things for such visual illustrations. Sticking to the manufacturer's test results will offer you a good baseline for how that
particular disc will fly.
Product Description
The Discraft Big Z Malta Paul McBeth Disc Golf Midrange offers players a stable midrange that's got good glide, and a reliable hyzer finish for both forehand and backhands.
The flight path of the Malta will be straight with a long slow fade at the end of the flight. The stable nature of the disc means you're not going to flip the Malta over when you throw it hard and if thrown on anhyzer it's going to pan out rather than flex. The Malta offers you a chance to rip a midrange without fear of flipping it over and it's going to have a reliable fade so you know which side this disc will end the fairway on. It's a great choice for both forehand and backhand players, although it does have a fairly large bead. So if you're not into beaded mids, this disc isn't the right choice for you. The Malta will do its best work from 75-300 feet and has a flight similar to a longer Zone, with less overstable finish.
Big Z plastic from Discraft is durable and has great grip. It's very similar to the Z line, but has a less clear look to it and is slightly more flexible in the hand. This gives it a little extra glide and a little less overstability. You'll find that a Big Z Malta isn't the overstable disc that it can be in ESP or Z plastic, it's going to go straight longer and still keep that hyzer touch at the end of the flight.
This disc has a chance to be a workhorse in your bag. If you're looking for a mid that is reliable, can be thrown with forehand or backhand, and gets a little extra glide. You've found it in the Big Z Malta from Discraft. Snag this and bag this for lower scores today!
