Making East Coast Connections

Making East Coast Connections

At the 2019 EURGC in Rock Hill South Carolina, trainzwholesale sent down some of our awesome team members to witness one of the best events in disc golf and be the official Maine state sponsors and see our banner on Hole #1. The State Sponsor Brunch was a gathering intended for all the hole sponsors to meet up and have a nice breakfast on the last day of the tournament.

Along with our team members from Maine, Cameron Harbachuk and Danielle Payne from Gulf Coast Event Productions attended representing the great state of Florida. I guess East Coast corner states can’t say no to a free champagne brunch. After enjoying a wonderful brunch provided Jonathon Poole and the EURGC staff, trainzwholesale realized that we’d made some friends with the Floridians.

This weekend is the 2020 Gulf Coast Charity Open presented by The Brown Boxer Pub/Smoke & Barrel hosted by the same friends we met down in South Carolina. This tournament is about player experience and charitable donations, things we feel strongly supportive of. So we became Bronze Sponsors in their tournament this weekend! There are 267 players who will be competing in this Pro B Tier/ Am A Tier event and this year they’ll be donating to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.

The GCCO is actually a lot closer than you think. If you take the world record distance throw by David Wiggins (1109 feet) we’re only 7,047 throws away! But seeing as how this is Maine and we’re generous with pars, Sabattus has decided that it’s actually a par 7,050. So if your’re lucky enough to win one of the gift cards we donated to their raffle, just stop into our Pro Shop.

Up in Maine we’re looking forward to a weekend where we may get above freezing for a few hours on Sunday. But our friends in Florida will be struggling through a 77-80 degree weekend filled with sunshine. We wish them the absolute best this weekend and hope all players shoot above their ratings.
